Visiting the Central Perk Café from Friends in Primark Manchester

In honour of the show's 25th anniversary, Primark has launched their very own unique Central Perk-themed café which is located on the ground floor off Market Street's Primark
store in Manchester. Just about a month ago Primark opened the doors to its Disney Café in Birmingham. Click here to read more.
The real Central Perk Café is actually a restaurant called the Little Owl.
The building where Monica and Rachel's apartment is shown from the outside is located at 90 Bedford Street in Manhattan. It is around the corner of Bedford Street and Grove Street.

I honestly cannot believe that the very first Central Perk café in the UK is located in the same city where I live.
I'm such a huge fan of Friends, but I'm pretty sure we all are.
As soon as I heard the news that the budget retailer, Primark has launched their Friends theme café on the 12th of June I cleared my schedules straight away so I could be one of the first ones to experience it.
Honestly can say it is much better than I have expected.

The cafe from outside it's exactly like the one in the show. As soon as I saw the set, I had flashbacks to the show with Janice's voice in my head saying: "Oh My God..!"
Of course, as it was expected, it was, so we had to wait in the line to be seated about 10-15 mins.
Once we got inside the first thing that caught my eyes was the famous chalkboard menu that was right next to the large coffee machine.

The interior is the exact copy of the real deal.
They used the perfect shade of green, hang neon coffee signs on the bare brick walls, furnished the café with furnitures from the 90s that are the exact replicas from Friends and they framed illustrations that featuring memorable moments from the show like Marcel the monkey, chick and duck, a holiday armadillo, and a print reading 'my name is Regina Phalange'. They also have THAT sofa, the iconic orange couch with the famous coffee table.
However, this part is located outside of the café, so everyone can take their photos without waiting in line to get inside.
Primark also created the wooden counter just like Gunther's one. They even created a dedicated tray spot.

There are some bake goodies on the counter like doughnuts, muffins and various flavoured cakes.
They also have American treats like Reeses Peanut Butter Cups and Hershey's Chocolate.
On the side of the counter, you can also pick up some sandwiches starting from £2.95 that Joe would be approved of.
This Central Perk also has its menu where you can either order breakfast or a light brunch.
The list includes pancakes and waffles starting from £3.
The drink menu is featuring New York inspired drinks like filter coffee for 99p.
If you on the go you can take compostable cups with you.

Right next to Central Perk, Primark has set up a spot with a few bits of merchandise where you can find anything that a real fan needs.
You can take home bedsheets, T-shirts, flip flops, travel pillows, bags and giant coffee mugs.

Central Park Opening times:
